Design an online bookstore like the early Amazon, with a catalog of ~20M books and ~50M daily visitors. Customers search and browse, add books to a cart and check out; inventory across warehouses must never be oversold, and customers must never be charged twice. Holiday sales bring ten times the normal order rate.
